Grill Print Press

An exploration of an inkless printing process.  Using illustrated type, which was drawn then digitally vectored, was hydrocut into a sheet of steel in the shape of a bbq grill.  The grill was then placed over a traditional round bbq filled with charcoal.  Adding lighter fluid, igniting the charcoal, and holding a large format piece of paper over the grill, the illustrative type is then smoked into the paper.
